Objectives and
Motivation
Wireless communications and networks has
been serving the human kind for so many years by
facilitating communication between people beyond
the physical boundaries. Improvements in
information processing competency of wireless
nodes and efficient network planning coupled
with advances in wireless communication have
resulted in the emergence of nodes which have
high processing and communication competences.
One of the significant issues in 5G wireless
communications is energy efficiency. Recently,
in wireless communication system, many research
activities have been emerged in the areas of
energy saving hardware and devices,
energy-efficient communication techniques,
wireless power transfer (WPT) and simultaneous
information and power transfer (SWIPT) for 5G
technologies such as Massive MIMO, mmWave, the
redesign of energy-aware network constructions
and protocols, energy-aware software and
applications, green communications, and
renewable energy sources.
The conference session entitled “Energy-Aware
5G Wireless Communications” is
expected to exchange ideas
and thoughts about impacts of energy efficient
communications and networks research on the
state of the art
as well as upcoming trends of
issues related to research and applications of
5G related emerging topics.
